| Course Description The Matanzas 5000 follows a flat 3.1 mile course through historic downtown St. Augustine. The race starts and finishes at Francis Field near the Downtown Parking Garage. The course travels along the beautiful bayfront, though historic neighborhoods, and past the beautiful Flagler College. Timing/ Course Certification The race will be chip timed through 1st Place Sports. The race will be timed using the ChampionChip (chip must be worn on your shoe during the race). If you have your own chip, you need to enter your chip number on the entry form, and deduct $2.00 from the entry fee. You must cross the timing mats to be included in the results. Do not wear your personal chip if you sign up on race day! Your race results final time will consist of both Chip Time and Gun Time. The Matanzas 5000 is a USATF certified course (#98039DL). |
